What to know about suicide: Part two

This is a great talk from Kevin Briggs of the California State Patrol. He shares stories about working the Golden Gate Bridge, the most used suicide spot in the United States. Last year 46 people died after jumping from the bridge. It's not all bleak though, because funding for protective barriers were approved this summer.

What to know about Suicide: It's a big deal

The terrible and wonderful thing about a celebrity suicide is that everyone hears about it. Otherwise, most suicides are not spoken of, because they are exceptionally hurtful to family and friends and a source of a great deal of shame for survivors.

Who should go to therapy? Let's fight stigma!

We have a choice. We can maintain the status quo and watch news of suicide, depression, divorce, and dissatisfied careers. Or we can choose to be different, by changing the way we think, speak, and act around issues of mental health.
